Scott Summers earned a Bachelor's in Data Analytics before earning a graduate degree in Urban Higher Education. He currently serves as an Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Office of Career Advancement at UChicago, where he supports students of color, first-generation, lower income and/or rural students interested in behavioral science, business, law, and STEM. Prior to joining the UChicago community, he worked for the Chicago Public Schools as a computer science teacher and district administrator where he focused on creating equitable opportunities and outcomes for computer science programming. He has a passion for working with underrepresented students to redefine their narrative in STEM disciplines. Black Excellence at UChicago is thrilled to host Scott Summers in conversation with Patrick Phillips AB’92, AM’92.
