Thank you for your interest in Emerging Rural Leaders I at the University of Chicago! 

The priority application deadline is March 1, 2020. Students who apply by the priority deadline will be notified in late March of an admission decision. Between March 2 and April 1, there will be a rolling admissions period during which students can expect to hear an admission decision within two weeks of submission. 

Please note: freshman year grades are required. If your first-semester grades for this year are not available by March 1, you may still submit your application and email any documentation to marjibu@uchicago.edu. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Emerging Rural Leaders I will be held the week of Sunday, July 19 – Saturday, July 25. If selected, students must confirm their enrollment within one week and submit all required forms and paperwork by April 15. The costs of transportation to and from campus for the student, tuition, housing, meals, and all program activities are covered by the Emerging Rural Leaders scholarship for all accepted students.
